Mission Statement & Methodology

Dr. Singh believes everyone should be able to work toward their prime behavioral health and wellness.

Dr. Singh's approach to patient care is grounded in the principles of shared decision-making, patient education, and fostering meaningful connections. He believes that by empowering patients with the knowledge and guidance they need to navigate uncertainty and make informed decisions about their health, he can help them achieve improved outcomes and a greater sense of empowerment. Dr. Singh acts as a patient advocate, looking beyond symptoms to treat the root cause of mental health concerns. He discusses realistic outcomes and sets expectations with his patients, providing them with the tools they need to thrive. By providing navigation through uncertainty, Dr. Singh helps his patients feel more confident and in control of their mental health.

Dr. Singh prioritizes open communication when it comes to medication and actively encourages discussions around the potential effects and benefits of medication recommendations, as well as the available evidence base for medication use, and prognosis with or without medication. The primary goal of these discussions is to facilitate joint decision-making, allowing patients to make well-informed decisions based on relevant information and outcomes. Dr. Singh always honors his patients' decisions with humility and respect.

A note from Dr. Singh

I am thrilled to be considered for an opportunity to work with you as your psychiatrist. I aim to exceed your expectations and provide personalized care that meets unique needs.

My approach to care is patient-centered and collaborative, providing a comprehensive and varied treatment process for conditions or illnesses. This perspective often involves a recommendation for several techniques, methods, or therapies. The goal of a multifaceted treatment approach is to provide the most effective and efficient treatment possible while also taking into account the unique circumstances and needs of the individual. The mental health community offers a variety of mental health resources and services that can be of great benefit to you. I will always ensure these resources are fully discussed and considered during your treatment.

When a patient is comfortable and consents, I suggest and welcome active communication, including family and loved ones. It may be beneficial to work dually with your healthcare team and loved ones to ensure that everyone is aligned and focused on your specific needs and mental health plan. By joining, we can gather valuable insights and create a more thorough treatment strategy.

What is a psychiatrist?

Psychiatrists are medical doctors who have trained to evaluate the complex interplay between psychological, biological, and social factors that contribute to mental illnesses. Psychiatrists use a variety of treatment modalities, including medication management, psychotherapy, and other evidence-based interventions, to help their patients manage symptoms and achieve optimal mental health. Psychiatrists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. Some common mental health diagnoses that psychiatrists may treat include depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They work with patients of all ages and backgrounds to provide personalized care. Psychiatrists are also equipped to address issues related to trauma, grief, and stress.

What is Telepsychiatry?

Telepsychiatry is a form of telemedicine that uses technology such as video conferencing to provide psychiatric care remotely. This means that patients can receive mental health services from licensed psychiatrists or mental health professionals without having to visit a physical clinic in person. Telepsychiatry can be particularly helpful for patients who live in rural or remote areas, have mobility issues, or have difficulty accessing mental health services due to work or family obligations. It can also be more convenient for patients who prefer to have their appointments from the comfort of their own homes.
